Edith is an Agro-environmental scientist interested in climate change, agriculture, ecosystem conservation and socio-ecological systems. She completed her PhD in 2023 with the Environmental Futures Research Institute at Griffith University under the supervision of Prof. Zhihong Xu and Dr Duan Biggs. Her PhD project focused on understanding the role of the climate-smart landscape approach in smallholder farming communities. She is particularly interested in exploring the interactions among land uses, ecosystem functions, climate mitigation, adaptation and food security in smallholder farming communities. Prior to commencing her PhD, Edith worked for the Kenyan Government as a Chief Agriculture Officer-Agribusiness in the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. She completed her master’s studies in Agribusiness at The University of Queensland, Australia. Her master's research examined the impact of climate change on agribusiness focusing on vulnerability and adaptation strategies.
