Dr Jai Kumar Clifford-Holmes is an independent researcher, policy analyst, system dynamics (SD) modeller, facilitator, and project and process manager, primarily working in the South African water sector. He holds a PhD in Water Resource Science and qualifications in project management, social sciences, and SD modelling, awarded between Rhodes University, Stellenbosch University, and Delft University of Technology. Jai was a 2011 Mandela Rhodes scholar and a 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow. He has published in the journals of Water Policy, Ecosystem Services, Sustainability, and Systems Research and Behavioral Science, amongst others. Jai holds an honourary appointment in an associate-level position in the Institute for Water Research at Rhodes University. His current projects are in the fields of integrated water resources management, integrated ocean management, climate change adaptation, and sustainable financing, and are funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), and the Global Water Partnership (GWP).
